A Quick History of Gear

Survival Gear List: The Essential Tools You Need to Survive Out There

If you are someone who loves the outdoors and wants to spend significant time camping and mountain trekking in remote and isolated places, then you probably are aware how important it is to always bring the necessary survival gear in order to survive. So the only question left for us to answer is what should be inside your survival kit.

1 – Knife

The decision to go camping or hiking without bringing a knife with you as part of your outdoor survival gear is probably the stupidest one you’re going to make. You should understand that a knife isn’t just for use in the kitchen because it also is an essential part of your survival gear. Well, the biggest reason why you must not go out there without arming yourself with a knife is because there are specific things it can do that no other outdoor survival gear can. The list of functions that a knife does includes cutting practically everything like rope, cloth, and bandages, opening cans and packages, creating wood tools, and cutting food.

2 – Cordage

There’s no denying that rope is an essential part of any type of DIY survival gear. As a matter of fact, it’s almost impossible to survive out there in the wilderness if you don’t have a rope with you. You see, rope is actually as important as a knife because without it, you cannot in anyway build a stable temporary shelter, making splints, lash poles, keep food together, climb, and make traps for animals.

3 – Hydration System

Quite frankly, this one does not really need some explanation. One of the most important things you should know about survival is that an average person is able to last for several days without food as long as there is access to drinking water. With this in mind, it is therefore imperative that you always bring with you some kind of container that can be used for storing water. Bear in mind that not all water you see outdoors is feasible for drinking.

4 – Signaling Equipment

Whenever you find yourself in a survival situation while camping in an isolated and remote area, one of your priorities is to find a way to make contact with other people. As the days go by without contact, you decrease your chances of being rescued. For you to be sure you have the ability to contact people for a possible rescue, you have to always bring with you a signaling device. A flashlight, mirror, whistle, or any other device that can produce either light or sound will be of great value. You just can forget bringing along a signaling equipment since it’s an essential tactical survival gear.

Aside from those four, there still are so many essential survival things you must bring with you if you want to be sure you’re safe out there, even in the middle of the most challenging survival situations.
